ChristianTurtle.com was created as a place for visitors to fellowship with each other and to share the Christian faith.
The turtle, which we use as an ongoing symbol, is a reflection of the old fable “The Tortoise and the Hare”. In the story, a rabbit and a “turtle” face off in a race. The rabbit, the quicker of the two, gets ahead easily and so then he decides to rest. He falls asleep and out of the race as the slow but steady turtle crosses the finish line. The moral is "slow and steady wins the race." The finish line represents the promise of God and His glorious kingdom. Once we have accepted Christ as our personal Savior and have invited him into our heart, we are guaranteed to cross the finish line. However we still may have a very long life race to run!
Applying the fable to a life of faith is the idea behind this site. Each one of us is sinful and we all make mistakes. We need our ongoing relationship with God and we need constant forgiveness. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and with the help of fellow believers, we can continue running the race. Our paths are sometimes uphill, sometimes downhill. Sometimes the road is a straightaway and sometimes there are sharp curves up ahead. Let us be like the turtle and just keep moving forward and staying in faith at a steady pace!
Blessings,
